  • General requirements for banners

    1. File size should not exceed 60Kb for GIF, JPG, PNG, SWF banners and 150 KB for html5 banners.
    2. No transparent background. Fully filled banner's space with readable borders.
    3. Banners for regional partners must contain 21 pixels free space on top, to place a headline. Example.
    4. We will not publish banner if:

      ∙It contains any interface elements

      ∙ Contains any irritants

      ∙ Similar to porno sites advertisement.

    5. No 3-rd party codes

    6. Independent audit of impressions and clicks events is possible using the following systems: AdFox, AdRiver, DoubleClick, Gemius, Mediascope, Weborama.
    7. Animation control should load CPU less then 60% in the maximum level and 40% in the average level

    Technical Specifications for Video Banners with autoplay

    By default video banner has build-in video player with it’s own controls (buttons “Play / Pause", “sound on / off" ) . The player also has its own statistics system, which allows to collect all VAST statistics:

    • Sound on / off
    • Pressing the Play / Pause
    • Viewing progress: 25,50,75,100 % of video duration

    Any event could be additionally counted with third-party audit system pixel.

    Video banners capabilities:

    • Default video banners start automatically
    • Video banner may have no sound (“sound on / off” button will not be displayed)
    • Video could be looped (in this case total amount of plays is counting)
    • Video can occupy any banner’s area and could be displaced vertically or horizontally (exact dimensions of the video and the offset in pixels should be defined)

    Video file specifications:

    1. Duration - 30 seconds or less;
    2. Maximum size - 2MB.
    3. Video resolution - 640x360 or video can occupy any banner’s area (example, 240х400 или 300х300).
    4. Stream specification:
      • Video Bitrate: 400-450 kbit / s. Frame rate: up to 25FPS.
      • Audio Bit rate: 80-100 kbit / s. Volume is 30dB or less
      • Overall Bit rate: 480-550 kbit / s
    5. Video format:
      • MP4 (MPEG- 4 ) video codecs H.264, audio codec - AAC
    6. Videos must not be misleading, it can not contain UI elements, etc..
    7. For the case when the user does not have Flash, additional picture (GIF, JPG, PNG) must be provided. It’s dimensions should be corresponded to the banner’s slot size.

    Technical specifications for Expandable Banners

    1. Banner expands and collapses only when user rolls mouse over and out the banner
    2. Expanded banner’s dimensions are 640 x 400 for all Mail.Ru Group projects, default banner’s dimensions are corresponded to the project’s slot size
    3. It’s allowed to use animation and text signs attracting user to roll mouse over, which shouldn’t be annoying
    4. The statistic available for number of total expansions (including repeating events for the same banner) and the first expansions (excluding the repeating events). For video-expandable, statics is additionally provided

    Technical requirements for text and graphic block on the Auto Project news pages

    1. Text - 60 characters with spaces (without title). It is forbidden to place in the text part of the TGB words and phrases such as « read more», « learn more>>>», « next >» etc
    2. Title — 25 characters with spaces
    3. No capitalization except abbreviations and brand names
    4. Image size 200х120 px, no animation, on white background, maximum size — 15Kb. Any animation is forbidden in TGB
    5. One object (preferably a car) should be placed on the picture / photo on a white / transparent background. The object should occupy approximately 70-80% of the area of the picture to be located at the center of the picture. For selection of photos of cars it is possible to use a base of images on the project Cars Mail.Ru (http://cars.mail.ru/catalog ).
    6. Advertising materials should not contain artifacts, blurred images, distortion of proportions and other design errors. Graphic materials of poor quality of processing and with a high degree of compression are not accepted for placement (the administration of the portal reserves the right of subjective evaluation of advertising materials)
    7. The administration of the project has a full base of high-quality photos of all current models of cars. All photos were thoroughly processed. Cars have the same angle and size. We strongly recommend using our own photo database when placing customer materials. In order to use this service - you need to tell us the name of the model and the generation of the car for which you want to pick up a photo
    8. The administration of the portal reserves the right not to accept advertising materials, the execution of which does not comply with the internal policy of the company

    Content roll technical specifications

    video in video banners is played own player with built-in controls (Play/Pause, on/off sound). The player also has its own statistics that allows you to collect statistics in accordance with VAST standard:

    • Enable/disable sound
    • Pressing Pause/Play
    • Video views: 25,50,75,100% inspections

    Possible Content roll:

    • by default video in banner starts automatically
    • video can be without sound (power button/mute not displayed)
    • the sound can be started on mouse over (in this case, the video appears a tooltip)

    Requirements to video file:

    1. Duration - not less than 5 and not more than 30 seconds;
    2. Maximum size - 2 MB.
    3. Resolution - 640x360
    4. Flow requirements:
      • Video bitrate: 400-450 kbit/s. Frame rate: maximum 25 frames/sec
      • Audio bitrate: 80-100 kbit/s. The volume level is less than 30dB
      • Total bit rate: 480-550 kbit/s
    5. Video format:
      • MP4 (MPEG-4): video codecs H. 264, AAC codec for audio.
    6. Videos must not be misleading, i.e. it may not contain buttons that duplicate services, and other elements.

    Portal has the right to decline placement of advertising materials if they do not comply with portal’s policies.
